Head Development Cell & Strategic Initiatives – Karachi

Postgraduate degree preferably MBA in Banking & Finance. Minimum 15 – 20 years relevant experience preferably in financial institutions, with good organizational and management skills and good business acumen.

The incumbent will be responsible for establishing a vibrant Development & Strategic Initiatives Unit that will engage in mutually enriching collaborative partnerships with a wide variety of institutions (donor agencies, corporate, government, NGOs, as well as individuals).  The primary goal of the Coordinator Development Cell & Strategic Initiatives is to engage with organizations/ NGOs and GOP departments and collaborate with them on projects/ initiatives that have common spirit/ objective, seek financial assistance and bring in new strategic measures. This unique initiative will allow the Bank to achieve its objectives as a financial institution working towards harnessing the potential of women, and providing them cost effective saving products at their door steps. It will also provide female entrepreneurs opportunities to grow through SME financing in setting-up businesses/taking them to the next level.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To identify NGO’s, Developmental agencies and Government organization for collaboration on projects aligned with FWBL’s strategic goals in the development sector.
  • Responsible for capacity building of employees within the Development Cell & Strategic Initiative (DC&SI) department and Business Division to align initiatives taken by DC&SI for business implementation.
  • To design programs targeted towards niche market segments and clusters for implementation of FWBL’s development goals in collaboration with Business Division and other related stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Business by networking and doing related PR work to identify new clusters/groups of women on Pan Pakistan basis to open accounts with FWBL, inculcate savings habits among these potential pockets of women account holders, identify and bring aspiring women entrepreneurs under the asset program of FWBL.
  • To lead FWBL DC&SI initiatives through active involvement in meetings, preparation of Budget, Positive Liaison between different stake holders of the Project, Road shows, Trainings, Product Development and Capacity Building activities, ensure that all funding opportunities are maximised and project timelines are met effectively.
  • Representation of FWBL at various forums for image building / marketing of the Bank and Financial Inclusion of Women of Pakistan
  • Periodic Visits Plan to meet Universities management, Women Organizations, Donor Agencies, Foreign Missions, NGOs, Chamber of Commerce, Private Sector Institutions, Government and Semi Government Organizations etc for support under the Financial Inclusion program and FWBL role.
  • Create Positive Linkages of FWBL, in collaboration with Business Leadership team,on Pan Pakistan basis with relevant entities involved in using Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in expanding outreach related to the economic empowerment of women of Pakistan, be a part of special focus groups created for e-women, youth employment, women empowerment, Home Based workers, SEWA Self Employed Women Association, Small and medium enterprises owned by women, Women X, Women Can Do initiatives and similar entities. Escalating & following up for support from I.T., HR, Marketing, Business Development and other units at Head Office.
  • Maintain and keep updating MIS pertaining to different roles and responsibilities and keep evidences in record for Audit trail and future review along with Monthly Executive Report for President & CEO.
  • Any other assignment given by the supervisor(s) or Banks management from time to time, keeping in view banks’ need.
